It depends on your county and the size of the building. Many counties require a permit for enclosed buildings and larger carports. We can supply certified (engineered) plans that most building departments accept, and we'll tell you what your county usually asks for when you call.
Your county sets the design snow load. Much of Central Oregon calls for 40 lb ("40#") or more, and mountain areas can be higher. Our pre-certified frames are engineered for 40 to 90 lb snow loads; a steeper 6:12 roof also helps snow slide off.
It depends on the size of the building, the manufacturer's schedule and whether you need certified plans and a permit first. Call for the current lead time in your area - we'll give you a real date, not a guess.
The ground needs to be level and square to the building size. Carports and RV covers are commonly set on compacted gravel or dirt with ground anchors; enclosed garages and shops do best on a concrete slab or footings. Ground certification for anchors and bracing is available. We'll walk you through it before install day.

Three: Round (regular) - the most economical; A-frame horizontal (boxed eave) - a house-style look with panels running side to side; and A-frame vertical - panels run top to bottom so rain and snow slide off. Vertical sheds snow best, so it is the usual choice in snow country.

A certified building comes with stamped engineering drawings showing the frame meets a specific wind and snow load. Building departments use those drawings to issue a permit. "Pre-cert" means the frame is already engineered for those loads; a ground certification covers the anchors and bracing for your site.
